Integrating our cameras into your software application is a straightforward process using our Software Developer’s Kit (SDK). Our highly configurable SDK uses a C API and includes a C/C++ header file for function and parameter declaration. Our SDK enables tight integration without requiring additional runtime dependencies to make your application easier to maintain. It is clearly written and well documented, and sample code is included.

We support Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems. The API supports our entire range of digital camera models, so migrating to different camera models if your application changes does not require extensive re-engineering. Our SDK is released to qualified system integrators and OEMs without an additional licensing fee. Having more than one option to synchronize external devices with the camera operation is critical to system integrators. SPOT Imaging Solutions recognizes this need and has designed two trigger inputs and four sync outputs.

Currently one trigger input has been implemented and one is reserved. The implemented trigger input allows an external device to start an exposure without software intervention. The trigger delay can be programmed through the software. The camera can be externally triggered for both single image and sequential image acquisition.

Three of the four sync outputs have been implemented and one is reserved. The three implemented outputs are: Sync Output, Ready for Trigger and Exposure Complete.

The Sync Output signal can be used to open and close an external shutter, or to trigger other external devices before or after an exposure starts. The trigger delay can be programmed through the software. The Ready for Trigger signal tells an external device if the camera is ready to take an external trigger. Any external trigger will be ignored if the camera is not ready. The Exposure Complete signal tells an external device if the camera is currently exposing or not.
